Prof. dr. J.L. Mackenzie (Lachlan)

My main line of research involves the further development of Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG), as developed by Kees Hengeveld and myself and presented in a book of the same title (OUP, 2008). I am currently especially interested in how FDG interfaces with recent psycholinguistic work on dialogue. Otherwise I am involved in valorizing (to use the favoured jargon) my expertise in English grammar and writing skills by producing books for students and other lifelong learners.
